The Singapore River is a small river in Singapore with great historical importance. The mouth of the Singapore River was the old Port of Singapore. Historically, the city of Singapore initially grew around the port and was the lifeline of Singapore where our first immigrants eked out a meagre living. To this day, the area around Singapore River, the Downtown Core remains the centre of trade, commerce and finance, the most expensive and economical piece of land in Singapore.
