Shophouses are commonly seen in South East Asia. Singapore old Shophouses were built between 18th to 19th century.
Typically, Shophouse consists of shop on the ground floor with “five foot way” – the covered walkway along the road with Shophouse property line for public pedestrians and which the residential accommodation at upstair. Each house abut each other to form row with regular facade with fire walls between.
